公元1333年，为武士统治日本奠定基石的镰仓幕府，因其所信任的幕臣——足利尊氏的谋反而宣告灭亡。失去了一切、被推入绝望深渊的幕府正统继承人——北条时行，在自称为神的神官——诹访赖重的手中引导下，逃离了化为一片火海的镰仓……。在逃亡抵达的诹访之地，时行与值得信赖的伙伴结成了「逃少党」，并借由「逃跑」与「活下去」来克服重重苦难，逐渐磨练出作为率领大军之将领的实力。另一方面，在京都的尊氏其权力正稳步扩张，而在镰仓，以尊氏之弟——直义为首的新统治也正大受欢迎。在时代更迭的巨大浪潮中，时行夺回天下的这场捉迷藏，其结局将会走向何方——。
